The Academy welcomes experienced and amateur photographers from all over the UK to join us and work with us on our shoots in the UK and abroad.

Whether you are an experienced professional with your own studio and ten years experience, fresh out of learning photography at college, or wish to take photography up as a hobby we would love for you to join us!

All of the photographers who receive regular paid work through the Academy started out by joining us, and now we fly them to exotic destinations all over the world for photoshoots! There are plenty of jobs in the Academy for new and experienced photographers.
 

Official Academy photographer Alan Bulldeath joined us as a landscape photographer with no experience in shooting models. Now he receives paid work from the Academy on an almost weekly basis and we have flown him to several exotic locations to shoot for us! Opportunities our photographers receive
 

There are lots of benefits to joining us, the main one being the opportunities we present to new and existing photographers to work with us. Up until now we have chosen photographers for jobs from their profiles, and the ones who we have enjoyed working with are now part of our official team and receive regular paid work from the Academy.

We have now added a 'Work for Photographers' section to the forums where photographers can regularly check for work and apply for the jobs they want to do. Whether it's for a portfolio shoot, an event, shooting at a Model Tutorial Day, or even coming abroad to an exotic location to shoot with us!

The work will not only increase your own experience as a photographer but open more doors for paid opportunities with us. There is also the chance of having your work published all over the world in magazines and newspapers, through Kerri's contracts with leading picture syndication companies!

Many photographers had never been published before they joined us, and many had never been paid for their photography work and had only enjoyed it as a hobby. Now many of our photographers enjoy weekly publications of images they have taken at our events in national magazines and newspapers!

The majority of photographers we use on a local scale are based near us in Norwich, however we often need photographers throughout the UK for various events - from Miss Great Britain pageant training days in London, to the Model Tutorial Days UK tour kicking off this summer.

We have also just launched our 'Academy Photographer of 2010 Award' a competition for all new and existing photographers to not only get recognition of their work, but some great publicity and prizes as well!

  • Portfolio shoots: From private portfolio shoots to themed portfolio events at beaches and various other locations we often need photographers to add to our growing team for paid opportunities. Those who are looking to build experience are welcome to come along to events and work with us whilst learning the tricks of the trade from our professional photographers.

On joining the Academy you will receive a log in to the members area full of advice articles and tips on how to become a better photographer - from a models point of view! It's easy to find advice on the best camera to use, shutter speeds and so on from any photography magazine or shop, so our articles are focused on how to work with the models to ensure they want to book you for shoots time and time again!

You'll find advice on how to pose models, styling them with outfits and accessories, and different locations and studio ideas to try. All articles are written by Kerri, who with over seven years experience as a full time model, and having worked with photographers all over the world, she is in the perfect position to tell you what turns you from an average photographer to work with - to an exceptional one.

Shooting sunrise and sunset ensured the photographers could enjoy each day sunbathing and relaxing by the pools in between shoots. Staying in a luxury 4* resort on an all inclusive basis they also got the chance to enjoy an amazing holiday as well as the chance of a lifetime to shoot on the Red Sea with 16 gorgeous models and Kerri herself!

 
     
Advice articles to help you:
  • Learn how to increase your confidence as an amateur photographer when working with new models and helping them to pose. Ensuring will you always know how to respond when the new model asks ''how shall I stand'' or ''where do you want me?!''
  • Learn how a make up artist can help you achieve the looks you want, and how to find free makeovers for the models before the shoot so you do not have to pay out expensive make up artist fee's!

  • Stuck for inspiration for a photoshoot? Find lots of different ideas, themes and locations to try which you may not have previously used in your shoots!
Forum access:
  • You will receive access to the forums, to chat to other photographers and models, swap ideas and advice with each other, and apply for all the photographer jobs available throughout the UK and on our trips abroad.
  • With over 1000 models on the Academy from all over the UK you'll find plenty of models should you wish to book someone for a TFP or paid shoot. From new models with no experience to professional Page 3 models, simply post your job details and wait for a reply!
  • Send unlimited private messages to models and photographers with our private messaging facility, messages are unlimited unlike many model websites where you have to upgrade to send as many as you like!
  • Read up on all the latest information in the modelling industry - from laws on working with models and what levels are legal, to websites to help you with your photography.
  • Swap links to websites and You Tube tutorials to help you with your image retouching skills - or ask our graphic designers for advice on the best tools to use when airbrushing!
Photographer profile:
  • As a member you will also received a photographer profile showcasing your portfolio in our photographers section.
  • Display up to 20 of your best portfolio images for models to see and book you for shoots.
  • Display your company information, website address and contact details of your choice for models to get in contact with you.
  • Display your experience and what sort of photography work you enjoy, your hobbies, and your interests, for people to get to know the person behind the camera as well!
A Model Handbook:
  • Aimed at models, this handbook is also an invaluable tool for photographers - with poses inside to try, and ideas to show the girls on outfits, styling, and how to pose.
  • You'll also find ideas to try with studio and location photoshoots, and things to ask the model to bring with her on the shoot as well!
